I love scanning the magazine covers at the checkout areas of the supermarket - just to see what ‘hypey hooks’ are being used to get people to pick up the latest issue and buy it.

The hyped up hooks really never change - they just get recycled and re-used throughout the year - …year after year.

You might recognize some of these Hyped-Up, Fitness and Fat Loss Headlines:

- Top 6 Foods That Block Fat Deposits!

- 3 Foods That Literally Melt Cellulite!

Yeah - you know the headlines I’m talking about…

Now - here is the ‘Un-Hyped’ truth…

When you replace processed, high calorie, low nutrient foods - with minimally processed, high nutrient value foods - you are going to get health and fitness promoting benefits. The magical powers that created us and the universe we are a part of - also created THE perfect foods for optimal human existence.

The creation of perfect foods for optimal human existence is no accident. As a matter of fact - the foods that are produced by nature are as miraculous as the creation of me and you. Think about it…

Without food and water we die. With high quality food and water - we live long and healthy - generally speaking.

With low quality food and water - we can sustain life - but usually its a very low quality of life that usually ends more painfully and sooner than nature would prefer.

I talk more about this in the book - but for now - here is a list I put together for a client, recently, and I thought it would be great to make this available to you and the rest of the world - so here it is:

8 ‘Zero-Guilt’ Pre-Dinner, Grazing Snacks
for Optimal Health and Fitness

NOTE: I always choose organic versions of these foods – you should too, if possible

1 – 1 medium cucumber, chopped or sliced
- add black pepper and sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt
- add one tablespoon of balsamic or red vinegar

2 – 10 baby carrots with same seasonings as above

3 – 1 medium tomato or 20 mini (baby, grape, cherry) tomatoes
- with same seasonings as above

4 – 1 small/medium apple (any variety)
- cut into wedges and sprinkle with cinnamon

5 – 12 ounces of seltzer water (or club soda)
- cut a lime in half and squeeze into separate glass
- add a pinch of stevia powder extract to lime
- mix until powder dissolves – then add to seltzer water and stir lightly

6 – 2 or 3 celery stalks, chopped
- squeeze a wedge of lemon juice over the celery pieces
- spray once with olive oil air spritzer (you can buy these in most stores)
- sprinkle lightly with onion powder, garlic powder, pepper and sea salt

7 - ½ medium avocado – sprinkled with black pepper and pinch of sea salt

    Honestly, I’m tired of your marketing and sales pitches that LACK substance of any kind. If you’re going to send email news to me that say “look how to do this…” and then you give me a bunch of testimonials and some cheezy webpage build for sales and nothing else, then please don’t!

    I’m frustrated because you “appear” to be giving real advice but upon further investigation, it’s all hot air getting to a sales pitch.

    Joey, I have been useing your lower body work out dvd for about 3wks now about 3 times a week and mixing it up with cardio I am seening a difference in my butt and thighs and my waist and tummy are shrinking too, but… I want this process to go faster. I am excited to see where I will be in 6 months. I do have a question though… Its my lower leg area that concerns me my knees are chunky and my calves could use defining and I am the proud owner of “cankles” {ankles are almost as thick as my calfs) any suggestions??

    I’ve been supplementing my workouts with the Lower Body Makeover workouts and am very pleased. However, I’m more excited about 28 Day Blow Torch Diet.     Hi Joey,

    I bought your workout cd and I’m dying to use it. However, I was diagnosed with a lumbar strain and a torn lower back muscle from lifting something heavy from the side. This was back on May 2nd. The doctor said I can resume my normal activities as long as it does not worsen the pain. I went to a chiropractor and he says I have one leg shorter than the other and I have a degenerated disc from this. I have to have a lift put in my shoe to prevent further damage to the disc. He said I shouldn’t work out for a while but I am starting to gain some weight. I want to start doing your dvd. Which one of your exercises can I do? Thank you!

    Hi Michele - try the floor exercises - BUT go very lightly - and if you feel that something is not right - then back off a little. Try doing 5 reps only - of each floor exercise - then see how you feel the next day. Go from there.

    I am refering to Luz C above! Im totally the same except never has anyone expressed that to me which is good I hope those people feel good about themselves now!!! So how about it what should I do to firm everything up and loose the belly it seems everytime I gain a little weight it goes straite to my tummy and arms never my legs where I need it the most HELP !Thanx Joey
